ParticipantGood afternoon all,
Wondering if anyone can advise on an intermittent problem on the above m/c?
I have visited the customers’ m/c twice this week, after being called due to the unit not emptying the water.
I drained the water through the filter, and ran several tests and visual checks. This included cleaning the unblocked filter, testing the drain pump and hose.
I then ran a programme to get water back into the m/c, and it span and drained perfectly.
However, the customer called again today to let me know the unit had been fine for two or three washes, before not draining again.
I returned to the property, and confirmed the water would not drain out.
I manually drained the water, and upon re-testing all was fine.
The customer has been using programme 13 which is one of the quicker washes, so I ran that programme twice.
Each time the m/c behaved perfectly, letting water in, draining, heating and rinsing perfectly. The drain pump sounds fine, and gives a good Ohms meter reading.
I wonder if the Timer/Control Module has an intermittent fault, and would welcome some advice.
Best wishes,
jontymox

The filter at the front is for the circulation pump. It goes up to the door seal.
Did you strip the drain pump? This is the one at the back.
Ive never changed a timer for this fault. So a blockage elsewhere or the drain pump itself. Do insualtion test the heater as earth faults can give no spin errors.July 13, 2011 at 4:29 pm #355535Martin

Lets face it, it’s an old bugger, done the mileage in its day so chances are the pump needs changing. Caution needs to be taken toward the inlet pipe to the pump also in case there’s a 2p coin flapping about in there? Stick a new pump in for starters will only cost no more than 3 quid to change at the most.
Looking beyond that, and motor brushes have to be an issue as not spinning water out and not pumping fault go hand in hand obviously.
And I’ve never come across any timer issues on these, so best not go there. Just pumps and motors is all you need to concentrate on. 😉
