I have just received my new AEG Lavamat Washing Machine Drum Bearing Kit from UK Whitegoods and am at the point of fitting the new bearings and seal. I have 2 queries:
    1. I intend fitting the bearings and seal onto the spider and then carefully coaxing the assembled spider onto the cleaned and lightly oiled drum shaft. Is this the correct method?
    2. Should grease be packed inside the spider housing cavity (around and between the bearings) and , if so, what type of grease and how much?

Thank you in advance – your help would be much appreciated.

you need to put the bearings into the casting first then the drum will slide into the bearings

Thanks washtronics, and what about grease – is any required to keep the bearings lubricated?

    Martin,
Thanks for your help – now fitted (no grease), reassembled, and working well. Cheers, over and out.
