dwasher gets stuck on 1 min and she says had it on for 7 hours!, told her to see if it was heating water waiting for call back. thinking it will be heater?

Sure it could be the heater, it could also be bunged up, timing out filling or draining and stuff like that.
When she phones back, ask her for the correct Enr (model) number. 💡
