This is one of the later ones where it has the smaller selector switch with instant start up.
Fault is it won’t start when the start button is pressed. The stop light constantly flashes but no response from start button. It’s a very clean machine but took panel off to check start button and ribbon to main board and all seems ok.
Low and behold after re assembling it starts to work so thought just a bad connection. Few days later a recall for the same problem. I go there and the first thing i do is spin around the programmer (selector) rapidly back and forth and it begins to work again.. not sure if it’s a coincidence..
Can a faulty selector cause this problem, anyone come across it before?

As Loopey says, very very common. part number is 41014503 if model is what you say ( 22 point selector ) it should have an orange shaft. the other two types are 41014502 – 16 position – white shaft and 41028011 – 12 position, purple shaft.

Well it turned out it wasn’t the selector. I checked button and ribbon and it’s ok so has to be the board. I also came across an identicle machine with the exact same problem. Is this a common problem with these boards?
