Our eight year old Arthur Martin/Electrolux dishwasher having finally given up it’s grip on life we’re in need of a replacement. Local choice of integrated machines locally, here in darkest France, is not great. A machine we have seen, claimed by the salesman to be made in France, (REALLY?) is the Sauter SVH91XF1. The shop price is 599 Euros (around £530) but cheaper in the ‘net. Has anyone experience of this or a similar machine or the Sauter brand generally OR could recommend a comparably priced alternative?

Sauter from what I can gather is part of the Fagor Brandt group. According to their website they have three brands for the French market: Brandt, Sauter and Vedette.

Can’t really comment on the build as Sauter is only available in France. We see mainly Fagor and De Dietrich products here in the UK in small quantity.

Personally I would source something like Bosch, Neff, Siemens if they are available in France.

Don many thanks for the come back and info re the Fagor Brandt group. Incidentally when I viewed the Sauter there was a Bosch model SM150E45EU adjacent to it for exactly the same price (599 Euros). I was not impressed by the Bosch build quality, it had a plastic door catch, plastic chamber floor, and plastic filter, whereas the Sauter has all these components in stainless steel – much more to my preference. I haven’t seen Neff or Siemens but my research has been rather limited due to the lack of retailers with integrated machines available. I’ll keep looking.
