    Hi,

I’ve been recommended to join this forum in that the hope that one of you wise beings will be able to help me with a problem I’m having with my washer dryer.

As mention in the title, we have an Indesit washer dryer and the model number PWDC 8125 W.

We’ve had the machine for about 3 months now and have had consistant problems with the drying cycle.

We’ve got a 5 year cover plan, but Indesit seem reluctant to actually send someone round to help us – instead they keep making us try a whole heap of things to see if it works.. nothing does!

The issue is that when doing a drying cycle 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time it stops midway through and all the lights on the front of the machine start flashing. This happens on sensor and timed dry cycles.

So far, we’ve tried the following to resolve it:

    1. Cut down drainage hose so that it is only about 4 inches into the drainage hose.
    2. Emptied and cleaned the filter.
    3. Run a rinse cycle, whilst having the drainage pipe connected to a bucket and then a dry cycle whilst it’s still there.
    4. Powered it off for ten minutes to ‘reset’ it.

I’m not sure what else Indesit are going to suggest, but it’s getting increasingly frustrating (and not to mention costly) having to run the dry cycle about 10 times just to dry half a load of washing.

If there’s any more info you need from me, please let me know.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

If you ask any one of the hundreds of engineers who contribute to this forum for advice on which is the best washer dryer to buy most of them will tell you that you should not buy a washer dryer in the first place unless you are going to spend £1000+ on a Miele appliance.

    Washer Dryers

Indesit products are, with the exception of one or two Chinese made machines at the very bottom of the quality/reliability scale.

Its very difficult for us to advise you how to get such an appliance to perform correctly when we know just how well its made, (not) :rolls:

When you say ‘all of the lights are flashing’ do you mean all of them or is it only certain ones. If it is only some of the lights flashing then this is an error code that we may be able to interpret to point you in the right direction.

more than likely a fluff build up in the condenser, quite tricky to remove on these sealed tank machines but i have removed many of them, cleaned out all the fluff and works fine (for another few months!)

I have the same machine and have the same problem ever since I have had it.but tonight I had a bigger problem so BEWARE.
I was sitting at my computer this evening and I heard my washing machine going, which I thought was strange as I hadn’t turned it on. I went to check and it was on fire the machine door was open and it had switched it self on. It was on fire around the door locking mechanism luckily I had small fire extinguisher that I used after I had turned off the main switch. I am going away for month next week so dread to think what could have happened if it happened while I was away.
The Machine is an Indesit PWDC 8125W

    Happypanda,
I think it’s time to start getting more assertive in requesting a service call from the manufacturer as the machine is almost new.
