Keymasterthis machine is an “eco wave 5 ” serial no.A111070300257 directly above this is 37002700 I have tried locally (Oldham area) to get a bearing kit for this M/c. but am told “no such model, there are TWO letters in the prefix” Please can anyone solve the problem? I could just strip out the parts for patterns, but then am stuck for a washer-see previous posting re-hotpoint 9577! thanks, steve.

ParticipantHo, ho Steve – this one IS a tank out – lots of fun to be had. IRC this one even has the same bearings and seals as the Hotpoint as it is basically a Candy in a skirt – just lots more work to do.
DC might be able to tell you a bit more in the morning as he has every manual ever printed for anything!
Luck,

KeymasterIf it is a real Candy tub group then the bearings are easy to do, but only with a LOT of experience on them and the only way to gain that experience is with many a cut (usually severe) and much cursing into the bargain.
Not a job for the DIY’r I’m afraid.

Except a Beko one I recieved from some Herring muncher 😆
Thanks BTW, it’s on it’s way back now. It’s similar to a Classica/New Wave so it’s not a tub out, it’s basically the same as the Hotpoint in many ways, front off, drum frontplate etc.
You’re guys are correct in one sense as there is no kit for these that I am aware of, you need to identify the bearing size (or order the bearings individually from Hoover at silly money), order the bearing seal (about £12) and the tank seal (about £6).

Hi, Guys, eell, the Hotpoint’s jamming, the Hoover dropped the belt mid-wash, so having seen the front held by 3screws,door-seal,2plasticbayonet type clips halfway up.-I attacked it first .dead straightforward except shimming the housing where the drum-end bearing had been fretting.(drive-end bearing outer race had split diametrically right round the track also across it it was truly pregnant! parts=qualitex bkt 45 =6205 2z+6206 2z+ seal. drum front clips at bottom were eased on with the aid of a loop of bootlace under the front hook -locate the2 prongs at the back, hold in place with one finger, pull the loop and voila! no cuts/curses/pings into the wide blue yonder . total job tme about 3 hrs. -it does help to have a set of bearing-drifts!
