ParticipantHi I have a zanussi Zce7541x prod no 948518059 and customer reported fan motor in main oven not working. There is power at the fan motor and element and when the main oven switch is operated the thermostat light comes on but nothing else happens. No heat and no fan motor action and no interior light in oven, this has me stumped so any help appreciated

Hi
How are you checking the voltage at the fan motor and element, because you they are OK and you are getting 230 volt across terminals it should work. Unless they are open circuit

Thermal cut-out on the oven cavity surely at fault?

hi
ive had this fault before, mine was the selector switch.

Yes I tested between the terminals on the fan motor and earth and got 230 vlots and same for the element but neither worked. This is what is confusing me that both have power but neither work and same for main stat it clicks as it should and the red light comes on but then nothing happens. Have plugged in new element, fan motor and main stat but none of these fix fault. Will try selector switch and was also wondering whether the clock could be at fault? And surely if thermal cut out was at fault there would be no power there at all. Also when twisting the main oven knob and looking at how the selector switch operates I noticed the metal springy terminal things underneath which there are 2 only 1 was in closed position when switch turned to operate the main oven the other remained open, does this sound like only the switch is faulty?

You say that you are testing terminals to earth – Looking at wiring diagram the oven temperature neon is fed direct to neutrel and not through the TOC, if the toc was open circuit or the feed to it is faulty you would not get a neutrel feed to components although the temp light would come on and if you test components to earth this confirms live feed but not neutrel

I’m guessing by that you haven’t checked it out then? 😉
Test live to earth only confirms a live supply is there and doesn’t go any further. So, is there a live supply through the overheat TOC? 🙂
