The washine machine doesn’t perform the Short Spin procedure, N on the programme, doesn’t work.
When the machine reaches that aspect of the programme, it simply stops.
The machine performs the main Spin, D, perfectly well.

Can anyone please offer any advice and solutions?

Is it supposed to though? Last Zanussi i had, it would stop at the short-spin, because it was the end of a ‘delicate’ cycle. Thus, the clothes stay in water so as not to crease and then the user manually selects either a short or long spin upon returning to the machine.

My mothers original Z918 used to do exactly the same, albiet the door-lock would come off after 2 minutes, thus she flooded the kitchen more than once when she forgot it was full of water!

Forgot to say, if it is as i suggested, you may find a solid line on the dial bewteen the end of the cycle and the start of the short spin. This used to indicate a dead stop and was not present on the cotton cycles, where as you know, the spin is automatic.

It used to perform the short spin in programmes where it’s part of the procedure.
For instance, for Delicate Washes and Worn Once ones, it’s meant to automatcally perform a Short Spin at the end.
What it does is stay on the Short Spin Programme, N, and does nothing.

Fair enough. Its funny, ‘cos i only ever knew this to happen on Zanussi, which is why i wondered…all other machines i had or sold in the showroom were supposed to click straight through.
