    Hello all,

Bit out-of-touch with retail these days.

So I popped into Currys for a look around. Usual gang of Sales Folk discussing the weekends drunken events, even using a few expletives within earshot of customers. Any of them interested in selling anything or helping a potential buyer? No.

But my main point (I am not singling out Currys here). What a pile of crap there is on the shop floor these days.

So much Chinese Garbage, most of it will surely be on the tip (or scrap yard) sometime soon.

The look and feel of everything from Coffee makers to tumble dryers and TV’s. Rubbish.

And the Prices. Nearly £2k for a Kuppersbuch fridge. And what a pile of crap they can be. B1tch to work on, have to go to the 4arse in the world for parts and try taking one apart!.

Currys Entry level Appliances, soon destined for a quick exit, again to the dump.

£250 for a Fancy Expresso cafe maker!
£109 for a fancy DAB radio

I recently bought a top end Miele Dishwasher, bees knees it is. Got it for less than half retail, customer return from a contact in a Major Internet retail company. Slight mark on the door, but a dollop of T Cut later and you cant see a thing, £400 well spent.

But Currys had a Miele G4100 in at £600 and even that felt poor.

Where is the quality and Value?

    You tell me?

    TM

Re: What a Pile of Cr4p

The other day I was driving home from wherever and I’d bought the kids an Xbox game.

My 7 year old daughter was looking at her latest booty and, obviously scrutinising the back of this game and, quite profoundly and without any hesitation or coaching said…

“Dad, this game was made in Germany”

“Oh really,” says I, “why did you notice that then?”

“Well,” she replies, “everything is made in China now, it’s just so unusual.”

You could have paid to see the expression on my face and I honestly still don’t know what to make of that one but, somehow, that worries me.

    Well that made me smile.

No thanks button on this forum, so THANKS.

My 2 year old Grandson was helping me count the change from our savings pigs yesterday. It is a family tradition, we save all the coppers, some silver and the odd Fiver in a big breakable pig for our summer Holidays in France or Spain.

We got to £580 and I announced

“Well thats good, at least we got the money for the Diesel to get there”

    He protested and said………..

“But that is our ice cream and beach Money Grandad”

He is TWO! And already chalenging the Budgets!
