I went to a Miele Washer/Drier Model WT945 (ser. 34630736) last night that was seriously overheating on all washes, including the two “cold” washes. Not boiling but ruining the clothes.

I checked the heater was not down to earth, checked the heater relay was not welded closed, checked the NTC (in the heater plate) resistance readings and verified them with another Miele washer as normal. (14.4 Kohm at 19 degrees C, 5.8Kohm at 42 C.) Wiring all seems OK.

Anyone got any advice on this? Seems like it might be down to the PCBs, which I am sure cost more than my mortgage!

    Thanks.

Don’t be afraid to check the main pcb for a sticking relay. I don’t know your model but Miele boards are not totally inscrutable especially when you have the wiring diagram tucked in there somewhere.
    Mike.
