    Hi,

I have a Whirlpool AWM328 (8570 328 15010) washing machine and the spider has broken – as in all three arms are completely snapped. Everything else appears ok.

Is it possible to replace just the spider? I’ve only found the drum and spider for sale together which at over £150 isn’t worth the money.

    Thanks.
    Dave.

I’m not familiar with that particular model but Whirlpool spares are known to be seriously expensive. Its very likely that the drum & spider are a single item.

Its worth having a read of THIS article. The reason why 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of drum spiders fail is through using liquid detergents and doing nothing but low temperature washes.

If you buy a new machine and continue to use it in the same way as this one then unless you invest in top level, expensive kit you will suffer the same problems.

Thanks for the reply. Simce no-one else has has replied with a source for the spider it looks as though you’re right – they are a single item.

I may end up junking it.

    Dave.
