    Hi,
Have been to see a Siemens dishwasher SN25M839UK/01 late type dishwasher and it will only pump and after a while displays E24. I think this is no fill or no sensing of empty? There is no water in the base and flood switch is fine. No fault with the fill mechanism as if I introduce some water into the sump shortly after starting it will sometimes then start to fill and proceed to wash but after draining fault then re-occurs. How do these sense a fill level and empty level as there appears to be no pressure switch. They have a reed switch for inlet water flow. Everything appears to test OK. Could this be main board fault?
    Any ideas gratefully recieved.

E24 almost always refers to the drain pump drawing too much current. Usually that means something stuck around the impellor shaft in my experience. Flicking the pump cover off and a close inspection may enable you to remove the obstruction although better access is gained by taking the drain pump right off!

    HTH? 😀

I’ve got exactly same symptoms here. I’ve removed plastic wrapped around pump impellor but it’s made no difference. I’ll test pump for continuity in a minute but past that I’m stuck.

It’s a DC motor and doesn’t take much to slow it down to a point where the module throws up an E24 error. So either there’s more plastic wrapped around the shaft or the pump may need replacing. You will probably notice that when you fire the machine up in circumstances like this the pump makes a few attempts at draining by stopping and starting again. If the module detects an excess current at that point the error shows.

    HTH? 😀

Thanksfor reply. I have since filled the tub manually and it does drain away ok. Everything seems fine until it should fill approx twoinutes, then it shows error. I have checked continuity to solenoid and solenoid is Reading ok. Is there a chance that fault code needs clearing? And if so what’s proceedire on this please.

The only ‘reset’ procedure I’m aware of is just by cancelling/resetting a programme. To do that you need to press and hold the ‘start’ button for 6 seconds or more until the display shows 0:01.

By the way, the resistance on the 3 drain pump terminals should read approx 82? (give or chuck 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}) all three terminal points should be exactly the same.(i.e 1 to 2 & 1 to 3 & 2 to 3)…..might be time to get the multimeter out I reckon. 😉

Multimeter is always out, the resistance quoted is exactly as read on this pump.I did try the reset and start new prog but it’s the same each time.
Again thanks for advice so far.

Its also worth noting that a jammed non-return valve can throw up this error . I had one that had me stumped until I removed a cherry stem from the one way flap .

    Hi all,
Concerning this E24 fault I had, I should have posted before
but forgot, the fault was due to the wash pump having debris in the impeller. Cleaned out and fault sorted. It could have drawn too much current and thrown up fault. :clown:
