AMANA SBD522VE side by side fridge/freezer plus ice maker

Have a customer who reports that water keeps coming out of the front of the freezer section on the left hand side. If the door is opened then a frozen puddle of water remains in the bottom of the freezer floor section that has a slight hollow shaped like a rectangle.
A small frozen dribble can be followed up to the condenser coil which s hidden by the metal bash plate bolted in.
If the plate is taken off then a small metal trough underneath can be found with a little oval drain hole on the left hand side of the drip tray.

This drain hole does not seem to be connected to any tubing or pipe to take any excess water away when the freezer section is de frosted. It just runs straight out down to the bottom? Does anybody know if this is correct as the customer gets water pouring out of the bottom as a weekly event?

The unit was made in 2001 and I cannot work out where the de frosted water should go and not just sitting at the bottom to run out onto the floor. Anybody seen this problem with the AMANA range as they are new to me.
