ParticipantGood evening all,
Wondering if i can obtain some advice/test procedure for the above m/c?
The problem is the motor will not spin, although does momentarily try do do so; i.e. will for a split second engage, but not turn.
Naturally, I have checked the carbon brushes, which are fine, as are the bearings.
I realise the motor may be faulty, or possibly the electronic control module, which are both difficult to test.
However, could someone please let me know the test procedure for the above problem?
Kind regards,
jontymox

Provided the motor (or the heater for that matter) has no insulation problems whatsover (zilch – clear – nowt, megger reading) and tumbles just fine then you can rule those out.
If on final spin it attempts to spin then pauses and tumbles a few times then the count-down timer jumps from 9 mins to 1 min, chances are that the modules OOB system is duff and a new module the only cure. 🙁

Thank you so much for your advice Martin,
It certainly does appear to be the electronic control module at fault, as the time remaining display does jump down from 12 or 11 minutes to 1 minute, thus aborting the programme on spin.
The m/c will not spin at all.
I have checked for Ohms resistance across the motor terminals, although am rather non-plussed, as there are eight terminals, and I don’t know which terminal does what!
I also realise electronic control modules are difficult to test if there is nothing obviously “blown” etc.
That is why I wondered if there was a test procedure… I did also try the search facility prior to to requesting assistance, but there was nothing relating to this m/c.
Best wishes,
jontymox

Good morning,
Yes, I have a Megger Insulation Tester.
However, I don’t wish to inadvertently damage the motor, by sending 500 volts down the wrong terminals.
Some advice on this eight terminal motor would be appreciated.
Best wishes,
jontymox

Do what?…not with you…….a 500volt megger won’t damage the motor. Test each of the 8 terminals (to earth of course) and it should be clear. The reading as I said earlier should be zilch or at worst no less than 50 megohms. 😕
Here’s the schematic of the connections for you….enjoy!

yes ive had this again today. motor and heater meggered fine. in the past i’ve concluded module and sort of confirmed it by aquiring the duff machines and using the motors elsewhere.
i too am interested in running a test cycle/diagnostics. does anyone know how to do it.
