Have a Indesit DE73UK Dishwasher which has run for nearly 10 years.

Come to start up the machine (programme set), drain pump starts and about 3/4 seconds later, A13 flashes. Drain pump continues for a while before stopping and machine goes into an idle state with A13 continuing to flash.

I know A13 is related to the electro-valve at the back of the soap dispenser or a TRIAC fault.

I have replaced the PCB board at the top of the door (as acquired a working spare), but to no avail – symptoms still the same.

I have tried to resource a new electro-valve/solenoid for the soap dispenser but to no avail. Various spares centre say I have to replace the whole dispenser unit at a cost of around £45.

I am reluctant to replace the dispenser as I have doubts whether the solenoid has failed. Do these things actually fail?

Or is it likely to be something else? Any engineers on here, seen this exact problem before and have a resolution?

    Many thanks.

i have had this fault when i worked for indesit years ago, replaced pcb and dispenser, both made no difference and machine got exchanged. Give up on it-you have had 10 years out of it

Thanks for the prompt reply. Really want to get to the bottom of this as everything else on the machine seems in good working order.

I have managed to get hold of a circuit diagram off ServiceNet for Indesit, it shows the dispenser circuit linking up with the drying fan motor which links off to the wash pump. I get the feeling that the fault is elsewhere in the system and it’s not the soap dispenser.
