ParticipantHi
My AEG Electrolux Lavamat Model L64810 won’t start. I have tried to identify the problem using the user manual but my problem does not seem to be listed.
There is power to the control panel because when I select a program it lights up and shows the cycle time as normal.
The door clickes shut and the “door” light is green and constantly on. I have checked that the child safety lock is not on.
None of the buttons on the control panel work – I can select a program with the dial but cannot then amend, e.g. I cannot add a “prewash” or put it on a “time saver” wash.
Any advice very gratefully received as I have two little boys who create masses of dirty laundry – we cannot be without a washing machine for long!
Thanks in advance

It’s a control board problem or earth leak problem of a component within. Needs expert intervention and I would suggest you call in a local engineer. To find one in your area simple click HERE 😀

Thank you! I feared that might be the case!

Any thoughts on whether to Repair or Replace? I cannot get through to any local engineers to get an idea of how much it will cost to repair the control panel…
The machine is 6 years old – not sure if that is old or young in washing machine terms!
Thanks again – opinions/advice gratefully received

Maybe something as simple as buttons stuck or have been pushed in too far & now not making contact with switches on P.C.B.
Or start button could be stuck in & hence the appliance won’t allow options to be selected as Start is already pushed (stuck) in.
** The selection of the options is to be carried out after switching on the appliance and setting the desired
programme with the selector and before pressing the start/pause button. -
