Hi, I’ve been to a Beko tumble Dryer (DRCS68W)where the felt that allows the drum to rotate and is fixed to the front end of the machine, has come off and jammed the drum and resulted in a broken belt. Easy fix I thought……I put the new belt on which I had in stock and thought I would use a hotpoint felt to hold the drum away from the front end assembly (stop the friction as the drum rotated). Then I realise that the sliders (four) were on the top side of the drum holder and not the bottom as with all others I have come across. Seemed simple enough until I tried working out where the felt should be attached. As the old felt had jammed I needed to pull it all clear in order to get the drum off, so couldn’t see where it was attached. I tried sticking the felt in between the sliders to stop the friction, but it just made an awfull squealing sound when rotating. I looked at the old felt and could see that it was one long continuous piece but could not see how it’s attached without sticking it over the sliders !!
The machine is only 18 months old and the owner said it worked quietly up until now, so it should be simple to resolve !
I ended up taking the thing apart 4 times to try and get it working and in the end decided to get the Beko felt as this would no doubt shed some light on where to fix it to the machine. Local shop could not identify the part so decided to contact a supplier who again, could not identify the part. They sent me the diagram of the machine and I cannot see the felt I require…….yet the machine had a felt that jammed the drum. Please can anyone shed some light on this for me as the problem seems so simple, yet I can’t find the answer. Many Thanks
