    Hello,

My dad has managed to break the hinged glass hob lid of his old gas cooker. Can Dave or anyone else help me to find a replacement lid?

The cooker is a gas Zanussi GC9557, bought in 1989. It is brown.

Apparently the Zanussi website is listing third party suppliers who no longer exist.

All help and advice gratefully received.

    Thanks in advance

PS Thanks again Dave for your kind help with my Homark oven parts numbering.

    That’s OK 😀

As Alex says the lid is now obsolete, unless you want to put a white one on it (which is still available), it may look a bit odd though.

Dave, can you please tell me how much the white one would cost?

Once again, thanks for your help.

    Hello Dave,

    Thanks for your reply.

My dad has come up with his home-made lid solution: from a mate he’s got a piece of stainless steel cut and is going to bolt it to the oven hinges. 😕

Yes, it is completely mental, I told him so.

For the moment thanks again for your kind help. I expect when this bodge comes a cropper he’ll be on to me to contact you.

    Regards

If this lid is supposed to operate a gas shut off valve, you’d better make damned sure it works, or Dad’ll finish up with a wopping great griddle………
