You never know how the day will turn out!
Can’t understand the increased number of people with tattoos, hate them, would be mortified should any of my close family adorn their skin …. cut here !,however after my experience this morning I could be changing my mind.
Called on an a long standing customer and as I drew in the drive the lady earnestly requested me to help her husband a couple of doors up who was trying to raise an older personn who he keeps his eye on but had noticed the curtains were drawn.
Cut to the chase,I broke a pain of glass to get in,opened the doors and we found the 85 year old person looking very peaceful in bed but with no sign of life, tried to find a pulse (was a part time firefighter and first responder) so quite used to it,neither of us could find one.Rang emergency services, and after a few mintes responders turn up,fitted defib, doing cardiac massage all to no avail. The person was clearly gone yet they for the sake of their protacols which I understand, they perform these actions until someone with the authority arrives and pronounces the person dead.
So eventually, several cracked ribs later (cardiac massage for you) the person is pronounced dead.I had remarked to the person I was with, that, “that would be how I would like to go,peacefully in my sleep” yes I know the joke! (not like the passengers in his car)or similar.
As and when the time is nigh I shall now seriously consider having
D N R tattooed across my chest ie do not resuscitate.
    Sorry if it’s wronh forum.

    Re: Tattoos

Just thought I’d respond as i am covered in tattoo’s and get discriminated so many times by people who look at “The book and judge the cover ” until they have a conversation with me and realize i don’t bite !!

This has held me back for years but tattoo’s are becoming more acceptable than when i was a kid..

I don’t smoke and only drink occasionally and love my ink but peoples minds do need to be changed from the stigma of tattoo’s !!

P.s I find that statement rather offensive ..I might not like the way you look but i would not label you ,like you have done to females !

    no offence mate –

mentioned females as its normally them who have on lower back,
didnt mean all just some – the ones with g-string half way up their back – my next door neighbour ewwwwww(tacky).

nothing against tatoos, females , females with tatoos – just some of are a bit tackier than other ..

ps i love watching Miami ink , inked , etc . most tats they do have meaning and are done tastefully .

tramp stamp was more tongue in cheek cos it rhymed more than anything else..sorry for any offence bad choice of words ?

On a trip I made to New Zealand in 2006 I was amazed at the extreme facial tattoos both male and female Maori’s adorned themselves with. Especially the older, more senior native New Zealanders it was a regarded a symbol of respect and status.

I thought I saw several Maori’s again today in Basingstoke shopping centre, but cant be certain as it was raining and I was dashing for the bus.

No worries ally ..I was not looking for an argument 😆 Just see it from the other side that’s all ..I have had a hard time with bias towards me (mainly when i was younger )still get the odd look now and then but most want to see how far the ink goes 😉

one of my mates is getting a couple removed – he got them when he was about 20 – now fading ..

laser treatment he,s says a tad sore -like someone is pinging you with an elastic band every 2 seconds.

ps no probs shaun , yes people can be pigeon holed .. i certainly wouldnt label anyone because the way they look etc .. seen /experienced to much of life for that ( dont include 0800 in that last statement)lol
