ParticipantHi All
First post here, and hopefully my first and last call for help.
We have the Hotpoint Aqualtis AQM8F9I Washer Dryer, and have recently suffered the common F05 error.
I looked at the filter, and found it was all clear, then removed the pump housing and rubber pipe – complete with large white ping pong ball (whats it for?) and removed half a pair of my missus’ knickers…..There’s no sign of the other remains….
I checked the grey waste hose too, and found that clear. Once reassembled, I ran a rinse and spin cycle, and suffered the F05 again.
After advice from a google search, I removed the pump assembly again, and ordered another – as the water would not drain. Once the new one was fitted, I ran a rinse/spin and found the water drained, then 9 minutes into the cycle I got the F05 yet again.
A bit more research led me to the pressure switch, so I paid an arm and a leg, waited another week for the part, and fitted it this morning – looking forward to clean socks for work! Again, I got the F05 error. I removed the pipe from the pressure switch and ensured it was clear, and checked the end of the pipe and where it joins the drum to find no obstructions. After putting it back together again, I’ve run the rinse/spin – getting F05 once again. This time though, I’ve determined that there’s no fresh water entering the machine to rinse – despite it being manually drained.
I’m tearing my hair out, and only have one pair of clean socks left – I’m getting desperate!
Any ideas on where to go from here that wont include hitting it with a large hammer?
Many thanks
MM

Try the thermister situated in the dryer heater box it gives all sorts of strange faults, you could just hang a new on in there to test it dont operate a drying programme though!

if the sump was blocked you will have to reset the pressure switch, manually drain all water from the appliance via the drain hose by lowering it into a suitable receptacle. remove the pressure switch hose from the pressure switch and refit. Switch machine On.
Open door and fill drum with approximately 1 Litre of water. Close door. Set appliance to drain and start appliance; the pump will then drain the water out pressure switch and module now re-calibrated to zero.Bob
