Difficult to say, those are not error codes, the right hand vertical neons are used for the error codes on these.

Have you tried switching off at the mains for a few minutes?

The top light is not used for error codes but a combination of the lower five are, but if it goes into error reporting mode then the lights should be flashing not on steady. Even if those lights were flashing they do not represent a known error code.

It could be either board at fault, it doesn’t sound like bad connections although its always worth checking all wiring connections and testing the motor & heater with a megger for low insulation first.

The main PCB is around £120 but needs a £15 smart card and a £100 card reader to program the board.
The facia PCB is around £50.

It might be better to take advantage of the five year parts warranty if the wiring and the motor/heater check out.

Be sure to pull the mains plug before having a poke around and leave it unplugged at least 15 minutes before you put your hands inside.

There is no such thing as cheap and cheerful, cheap and nasty, likely to last a couple of years and then be replaced with another piece of cheap junk is all you will get for under £300. And that is just stand alone machines, built in and you will need to go a lot higher.

Do yourself and your daughter a favour and invest in a decent quality machine, it is economically and environmentally the sensible thing to do.

As my old Grandma used to say, ‘buy cheap, buy twice’ these days you can update that to ‘buy cheap, buy thrice’. A £700 to £900 machine will more than likely last at least four or five times as long as any cheapo machine.

The Indesit Company will repair this machine for labour only (around £105) as long as you resist the pressure to take out an extra warranty and pay for descaler etc.

You cannot go out and buy a new machine for £105 so you can’t even buy the cheapest Chinese tat to replace the Italian or Polish made Indesit machine that she has. :rolls:
