ModeratorNot been out to this one yet, I’m guessing possibly loose or broken wiring to ntc or faulty ntc.
Any other known areas that would cause this machine to boil on 30° wash ?
Jim.

Called to this one this morning, anyone know what the NTC resistance is at room temp, I was getting just over 6k?.
The NTC passed the ‘cup of boiling water’ test. 🙂I tightened up the very flimsy connector to the NTC and set the machine going on a 30° wash with the machine plugged into my little monitor.
It heated for a decent period of time, not really possible to test temp just by touching glass and then switched the heater off and went into drain.
Is that normal on a 30° wash on these, usually when doing this test a machine will heat until temp is reached and then switch off the heater and continue with a wash cycle for 15 or 20 minutes before draining out for first rinse?

The NTC passed the ‘cup of boiling water’ test. 🙂Sounds spot on to me Jim. Here are the resistance values anyway: –

Thanks Martin, I’m just wondering if the heater relay might be sticking. That would account for the machine still drawing nearly 10 amps as it went into the first drain, I’m guessing the pressure switch opening may have cut the power to the heater.
What is the time profile of a 30° normal wash, should the heater be switched several minutes before it goes into drain?

I have the same problem this morning on a WAA28160.
Heater is on whenever machine is powered up so long as there is water in the drum. As a result it’s heating on rinse! As soon as water drains and pressure switch clicks over to empty the heater switches off. I’m assuming that the heater relay if jammed. Going to give EMW a call.

Pretty certain sure that the module (447614) is the trouble. EMW won’t be able to help you with that one though. 🙁
