ParticipantHave cust with Siemans dishwasher. Been stored for months in garage. Cust installed in kitchen, now machine fills, empties and then click is heard on module (263607)and display flickers briefly as if power goes and comes back.Repeats this ad infinitum. No number seen. Wash pump is not heard. Module is not burnt on heater relay but many of the plastic buttons on the housing are missing. Is this likely to be module fault?

ParticipantWith power off, remove r/h side panel – end of circ pump will be facing you. If you very gently rotate the pump by the cooling fins on the rotor, it should eventually break free. Run the machine BEFORE putting the side panelback on. 19 out of 20 the seals start to rotate freely — the odd time the ceramic part of the pump seal can break free and you get water everywhere. The pump housing/impellor/seals are available as a separate part if necessary.

Just been to job, wash pump appears free. However it transpires that cust “had a look” at the buttons because the actuators had broken off the module. What it looks like that something is now short cct so when the wash pump was activated after filling, board reset back to beginning hence the 2 clicks of the relay contact opening and closing and display going off and on. Wife was in kitchen, so husband said dishwasher was like this before he looked at the buttons!

Simon,
Have you taken a look at the main power board on the Control Unit? Usually the heater relay terminals burn away from the PCB and need stronger solder and link wire job to fix 😉
The tester to ensure the unit is servicable before attempting a patch-up job is to try the ‘Reset Procedure’. If the control unit fails to reset then its a bin-it and fit a new unit (Part No: 263607).
However IF the unit does reset and you resolder the dodgy relay, then simply fit a new outer casing to fix the broken switch actuators (Part No: 264946) and job done
Hope that helps?

Sorry forgot to say fitted module complete now o.k.
Is reset procedure buttons 2 & 4 together?
Dont believe in resoldering relay with pitted contacts causing pin to desolder itself. Similar to old Whirlpool washing machine boards with clockwise and counter clockwise rotation welded relay contacts, board seems to blow again in the end. -
