It really isn’t too often the the WTA and, especially, the management team that actually do the graft blow their own trumpets. No, they tend to quietly slog away in the background just doing what needs done with (usually) few if any ever actually seeing what they do.

So, I’ve decided that shouldn’t happen so much.

Hence the flurry of activity recently. As well as, there are actually things happening.

    First up…

Call from a very nice member about a housing association with over 55,000 properties on their books. WTA membership is now a pre-requisite to tender for work on any of their properties. 🙂

Amica. Amica will be reviewing membership status over the next month or two, dropped members or those that don’t renew may find that their Amica work drops off a cliff. Their rules, not ours. They need it to meet their ISO requirements.

UKW. UKW Engineer Search (here in case you’ve been hiding in a cave and missed it: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/search/fi … ineer.html) now highlights WTA members as a preferred choice.

    Government etc. Stuff

ICOR done by John and I. Good results.

Led to, an invitation to speak to the Royal Society for Engineers and Cambridge. How intimidated are John and I having to do that?

OFT, ongoing on several fronts. Approved COP dead for now until the OFT’s future is clear.

WRAP – several things going on, general consensus is the message is getting through about low cost appliances. They are still looking.

Warranties – Unknown as yet, awaiting more info from the OFT.

DEFRA – Looking at durability labelling as we’ve banged on about for years. Loads more there as well I think, but forget it all.

    Probably a load more I’ve forgotten. 😕

    February Meeting

These muppets that volunteered and got elected, as well as those that got press ganged into helping are, simply put, mental.

Nicely though, there seems an abundance on mental cases on the ward. 🙂

Of course, intended in the nicest way possible.

They’re working like nutters to make this happen, make it the best meeting ever and to offer a whole range of things that we, rag tag repairers, have never had access to or seen before.

You gotta give ’em some credit.

I think that’s it for now although there is, as I said, probably a heap more.

But, if you think they’re all sat about with nothing to do, nothing could be further from the truth.

    K.
