ParticipantHello, I’m in the process of buying one of these ranges, but it’s set up to run on mains gas, does anyone have any experience of converting to run on LPG? Does it need different jets, or anything, in which case any idea where to get them?
I’m aware that Candy are the owners but am struggling to find a local agent. I live in Herefordshire
Thanks
Adam

Hi Adam,
Yes, you will need a set of LPG jets that Dave can usually get, just ask on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk
You may well struggle for a gas repairer, you can try the engineer search here:
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/search/fi … ineer.html
But a lot of the guys dropped gas long ago as the cost and legislation around it is onerous.

That was quick! When you say gas repairer, do you mean I’ll need one because I won’t be able to change the jets myself? Or that I’ll need one for hooking the range up to the LPG supply?
Thanks for the help

You can change the jets yourself but a commercial business cannot do so without legally being Gas Safe registered. Likewise hooking up any gas appliance to a gas supply.
One of the most stupid parts of the legislation surround gas safety from our friends at the HSE.
LPG is even harder to find than natural gas repairers as it is a separate area of certification with much lower volumes of work therefore many repairers and plumbers/gas fitters that do natural or town gas, won’t touch LPG as they aren’t certified to do so. Even though they are perfectly capable. More stupidity from the HSE IMO.

It’s easy enough to do, screw the old out, screw the new in.

Sounds good – and I see you’ve got the LPG jets for sale, so thanks a lot for your help
