I have a gas hob Stoves GR600 Model Number 059040018 Serial Number 006926. One burner currently does not light and after checking the switch and electrodes were OK I ordered a replacement ignition unit from Stoves. My engineer when he arrived to fit it tells me that this unit will only act as an ignition unit and if the gas goes out it will not reignite. The current pcb ensures that if the gas blows out or something boils over and puts the gas out then the gas is reignited. Can anyone confirm if there is a replacement Ignition/Reignition PCB that works as the original fitting?

Yes the new unit should work exactly as the old one did, there’s no way it could work as he says as the gr does not have an ignition switch, it’s quite a hard job to swap and desire if you don’t know what you are doing, maybe he was just looking for a way out.
