    Hi all

Just wondered if I could pick peoples brains on this one, I was called out to the above machine because according to the customer it was smoking and taking out the electrics. The customer demonstrated the machine to me when I arrived – it ran the drain pump then filled with water before taking out the main RCD, I then ran a Earth and Insulation test on it and got good readings for both (0.1Ohm Earth, 464MegOhm Insulation), I have checked through the whole machine and can find no trace of any smoke (suspect it may have just been steam), I also can find no trace of the earth leak required to take out the RCD (Motor >550MOhm, Heater 213MOhm) and it is dry in the base, I did find however that it had blown the internal fuse on the control board which meant that I couldn’t try it again till I get some more fuses.

I am almost completely stumped with this one but have a couple of questions to ask:

What resistance reading should I get on the detergent dispenser coil (currently getting 1.2KOhm whereas every other solenoid coil is approx 4KOhm).

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this at all please?

Does anyone have any idea what could cause this?

    Thank you

    Jem

have a look at mains filter, most likely it has blown, causes a trip but not always an insualtion fault.

The filter looked visually perfect and comes before the internal fuse on the board which is why I ruled it out but I may well see if I can disconnect it to see what happens anyway when I go back.

P.S. The machine was still turned on at the socket when I arrived and had been so for 24hrs which means the filter had been as well so I don’t think it will be that but any more ideas then keep them coming.
