    Have broken dive belt, need to replace! Can anyone tell me how to access drive motor to change belt,have taken off both sides,
    but can,t even see motor.Top? Bottom? Back seems a bit tricky.

    Sides off and can’t see motor, “should have gone to Specsavers” 😀

    The motor is clearly visible from the right hand side (looking from front) with the side panel removed. It sits on the base at the back under the drum.

    You don’t need to remove the left hand side to change the belt but it is not an easy job to do. Front panel has to be released to allow refitting of new belt.

    The belt is a ‘stretchy’ belt and you will find that the new one will only just fit around the drum, let alone reach the motor pulley, a special tool ( very long bar with hooks ) or some other improvisation is required to force the new belt over the motor pulley.

    If the belt has snapped then there is a very strong possibility that the rear bearing has failed or is in very poor condition.

    Belt is a 1703666, available from our online store.

    Many thanks! Your right,was replacing panels after removal just in case the whole thing collapsed and must have missed it.Found it now.Does front have to be removed completely or just loosened? With no belt on, fan clatters the rear panel.will this go when the new belt is on,or has bearing worn?Belt hadn’t snapped but was hanging by a thread.

    Loosened sufficiently to enable placing new belt onto the drum. Then prior to fitting the belt in place, reassemble the front panel, control panel and left side panel. That ensures the drum is fully in position, secure and can be rotated with ease. Stretching the new belt onto the drum pulley will be quite a challenge for you though. We, in the trade, use a special tool to do this and without one it is a daunting challenge to say the least.

    Drum bearing?…No I’m talking about fitting the belt….Drum bearing?…sorry you lost me on that one. 😕

    I was referring to the drum rear bearing, usually in a bad way on most of these after a couple of years use.

    Thanks to both of you! Will check play on drum bearing, and if worn will order kit listed in your spares, and change at same time as belt! Am going to improvise tool for fitting belt!! he says!!
