We have a Miele FF (no idea where the manual is and cannot see a model number on it anywhere – if someone can advise, I will update, sorry!)
The temperature alarm goes off ALL the time. At least 4 times a day, at random intervals, with no discernible pattern although it does quite like 4am :rolls: . The doors are not open, and the temperature is not dropping – we got independent thermometers and monitored various areas in the fridge and freezer to check.
Before I phone Miele and weep down the phone(I’m 8.5m pregnant, anything sets me off at the moment) I wondered if anyone had experience of this, and is there a quick fix? If it’s an electrical short circuit or something, could I ask my electrician to take a look? Naturally it is about 4 months out of guarantee 🙁

How many beeps when the alarm goes off ?. It may not be the door alarm.
How old is the appliance as the door may have dropped. Is it an integrated model as the decor door may be stopping the door from actually fully closing even though you think it’s closed.

Hi Bryan, thank you for replying! It gives three beeps and then a pause. It does that constantly until we press the button on the front (by the way, the red light is constantly on).

Is it integrated ?.The model and service number will either be on the internal wall when you remove the salad drawer or on the internal wall inside the freezer when you remove the drawers.
Yes 3 beeps is the door alarm but without knowing the model / service number or if its integrated or free standing we can’t really help further.

Hi there! I have a KTN 4352 SD fridge freezer (only 6 years old) which is also going off about 4 times during the night. V TRAUMATIC!!! Would love to know how you resolved it please?! Miele want £130 just to look at it…

Hi takkischitt, did you manage to find out why is that alarm going off and sort it out?
My fridge is about 2,5 years old and 6months I’d guarantee of course. I had this problem happening only once before. Ingineer came out and sort of left a cable tie in the little hole at the back and asked to give it a little push every so often. Well now that is out of guarantee the alarm started to go off more often.Re: Miele fridge freezer alarm randomly going off
No, never got a fix and the cost to ‘repair’ is too high, so just been putting up with it. Very annoying when it starts beeping at 4am though. Not at all impressed with Miele, to be honest. Not sure I’d buy their products in future after this.

As far as I Know Miele don’t make fridges they buy in rebadged Liebherr units, which have an excellent reputation for reliability

Dave, it might be a good reputation still lasted less than Samsung before it started playing up.
Not impressed either.
Just checked why have I not extended the guarantee on it, and I didn’t do it because Miele prices are ridiculous £180 for an extra year or £350 for another 3 nearly price or a new appliance (other than Miele).
I had hoped that for the amount of money Miele after sale care would be little better too.
Does anyone think if it is a good idea to defrost it.

I am hoping one of the Liebherr experts might jump into this thread.
I looked up Liebherr fault 3 and got freezer air sensor faulty. Now I don’t know if that is the fault coupled with the fact Bryan on post above mentioned 3 beeps is a door alarm
cant do any harm to defrost it. I would also do temp checks for both fridge and freezer with a reliable thermometer

Send me a photo of the rating plate in the fridge, I need a bunch of info off it to see what it is.
I’ll see if I can find out the fault code meanings.
A word of warning though, it sounds like a sensor problem and there will be at least two or three normally and whilst the fault code will indicate a problem with one of them it may not tell you which it is. After that, it comes down to an educated guess or testing them as best you can.
Parts for them, if you use the Liebherr part numbers, still aren’t exactly cheap in some instances but certainly don’t carry what I like to call “Miele Tax”. 😉
