ParticipantI don’t know if my eyes decieved me this morning when I arrived to this dishwasher, it showed on the lcd screen on the left saying F7 but then I resetted the machine and it came up with 6 flashes on the right by the start button which indicates a F6 fault code. Like I said I am unsure if I actually saw the F7 fault. But it is kinda related to each other.
After a good thumbing through the UK whitegood fault codes under diplomat, haier and whirlpool. Narrowed it down to flow meter or water valve fault. I had a quick look underneath gave the valve a good tap for good measure not successful without pulling the d/w out. In hindsight, I should have pulled it out!
anyway, my hunch is the water valve as it keep throwing back the 6 flashes indicating F6 fault. Water tap not turned on it says in the book but it is turned on. So I am thinking water valve fault or blockage.
I ordered the new valve in the vain hope it would solve it, but I am having second thoughts… on Connect website there’s no mention of flow meter chamber, so I am assuming that it is not possible to replace (even though some of the threads says yes). Just that I like to arm myself with parts and knowledge so I can tackle it.
What are the feelers on it then?

broken wires at door, or flow chamber which is available as a spare, you can just buy the reed switch which is a bit cheaper 481231019147, also check pressure sensor in sump the grid can choke up throwing up this fault.

I have fixed the problem. Turned out that it was the water valve. The old one gave an open circuit reading and the new one gave a closed circuit reading, at this point I was able to confirm it.
I must point out that the bracket was rather difficult to put on with the waste hose being in the way. To overcome it, file the edges down for the waste pipe so you can slide it in place. Also be warned that the waste hose pipe is very flimsy and are prone to splitting. I found out the hard way, I sealed it up with tape which did the trick. The client was made aware of it and was happy with it.
