After a conversation this morning with the manager of a well known electrical retailer who phoned regarding the problem with a particular brand of chest freezer and was asking why they saw so many of this particular brand being refered to them for exchange.
I asked “Does the price you sell them at not give you a clue ?”
His reply “I never thought about it like that”
Customer education is one thing, perhaps we need to make the retailers more aware as well. When will they realise the cost of uplifts and exchanges will soon outweigh the profit they make on selling the some of these “low end” appliances in the first place.
I must admit at being a little shocked that the retail price reflecting the quality of the goods was not a factor that figured in his mind.
