    Hi,

I have recently got an Ikea Renlig DW60.
I have noticed that invariably the dishwasher tablet is either stuck partly dissolved in the dispenser, or lying in the same state at the bottom of the unit.
Today, was the same, so I closed over the dispenser spring door til almost closed, and held it it that position with the blade of a knife and closed the door as much as I could.
I removed the knife, and it is obvious that the door when springs up, just hits the bottom of the top rack, and probably only opens a third of the way.
If this is the case, this would seem to be why the tablet is falling and getting wedged.
Surely the door flap should pop up and be fully open?
Is this a design fault, or am I missing something here?
Can’t find the same symptoms anywhere on the net- it just can’t be me???!!!

I’m not the least bit familiar with the Ikea dishwasher but many other makes have dispenser doors that are designed to operate in that exact same way. In many cases they have a bar on the top basket that stops the door from fully opening. The purpose being to direct water from the spray arms straight in to the dispenser to ease faster dispersal of detergent.

On dishwashers designed in this way you can always hear the dispenser door hitting the dishwasher door the moment you open it to unload.

Later designed makes no longer operate this way, instead the dispenser door slides open to facilitate the slower, more progressive dispersal of the modern dishwasher tablet. They open fully and the tablet merely falls out!
