Engineer Vetting

I did say I wasn’t done with the engineer search function. 😉

We have almost completed (but not quite ready for primetime) the ability for you to upload any certification that you have, this would be:

Public liability insurance policy
Gas Safe registration certificate
F Gas certificate
Employer’s liability insurance certificate (where applicable)

What the system will do is remind you when it needs refreshed, seven days before the renewal date and to upload a copy of the new certification. On the due date a further reminder is sent. Seven days later another reminder is sent and then, after that your account will be suspended.

This does two main things for us administratively.

It ensures that there are no “dead” accounts on the system so that people no longer trading aren’t getting enquiries and it verifies that all the certification for what you do is up to date.

In turn, this ensures customers and corporate accounts that look for repairers using the system know that you’re verified and all up to date as well as us fulfilling our duty of care to consumers.

The upload is a simple scan, PDF, image file, doesn’t really matter and takes two minutes to do. Many of us have to have these on file and scanned anyway for various contracts so it’s not the end of the world to do.

I have also agreed that this system can be used for the WTA members to verify their members are current with all this stuff which makes them and us one of the very few services that does vet these things. Not once then it’s all good, but every time any of the certificates expires so we’re always up to date.

This isn’t live yet as I said but, this is just to let you know that it will be going live in the next few months. I’ll let everyone know when that happens and all registered businesses will get an email about it when it’s going to happen.
