My Mum’s Diplomat APL 8225 dishwasher has a fault. The mechanical timer runs until the point where it fills up with water. I presume that when the water reaches the correct level, the timer will start again, however, the fill valve never operates. I’ve put a meter accross the contacts on the valve and it appears that the valve is not getting any voltage. I’ve checked the flood sensor switch, which seems ok.

All this leads me to suspect that the fault is with the timer itself. Not having a wiring diagram, I can’t see if there is anything else in circuit with the valve which would cut the supply. Any advice would be appreciated.

Check for broken leads in the door wiring loom, where it hinges at the bottom 😉

Please pull the plug 1st !!

Thanks very much for the hint, you were absolutely right. At least three of the wires are broken, with a few more looking dodgy, an hour or so with the soldering iron should sort it out. Also, there is a wiring diagram tucked in behind the front panel.

    Good news then 😀

That will be the Brandt (French manufacturer) made dishwasher then, they tend to put diagrams with some of their models.
