ParticipantI have a dishwasher rebadged as a Butler BDW7060, but no-one is able to tell me the original manufacturer or model from the Butler serial number.
The door lock is failing. If I remove door lock will the part be identifiable from a part number? Or maybe someone could identify a suitable replacement part from a picture of the door lock?
I dont wont to remove the lock if this wont help identify the part.
Grateful for any help with this

Hi,
Take a picture or two of the dishwasher, the facia, the lock in situ and whatever else looks unique and we’ll see if anyone recognises it.
Butler are no longer trading and there’s no info on that model. 🙁

All,
I think I have now identified the door lock part number. It appears that the Butler model number BDW7060 is also a Smeg appliance model number, and I have found an Italian spares site that lists all the part numbers for the machine. It seems to have many parts in common with the Smeg Diplomat machines.
Hopefully that is problem solved.
Thanks for the help on the site.

Hi I need a new lock on my dishwasher just like the recent post. Could you please let me know the name of the Italian parts company you found so that I can buy one?

Hi,
As long as it is a Smeg made dishwasher the lock is part number 697690139 on our website here:

Dave.

Thanks Dave!
It’s a butler dishwasher and it doesn’t say it’s made by smeg but it’s exactly the same as the photos in the previous post above by camcomuter so you reckon it is compatible?

Hi
I have had an engineer out and he says the lock you recommended is not right. We opened the unit up and I have taken pictures of it to show you. Now my dishwasher won’t work at all !
Please can you reply urgently?
How do I attach photos. Do you have an email address please?
Thanks

ThanksFor anyone else looking to replace the door lock on a Butler Dishwasher BDW7060, the one I used was SMEG part number 697690208. It seems the dishwasher is basically a SMEG dishwasher with many parts (though not all) in common with several SMEG models (DWI710E1 for example) and some Diplomat models (which also have many SMEG parts) including ADP8234
What I did was google BDW7060 which is a SMEG model number(note there is no gap in this number) and find european parts suppliers for this SMEG model number, identify the SMEG original part number from their catalogue by looking at the pictures, and then google the SMEG part number. Have identified several parts for the Butler in this way.
Hope this helps someone
