ParticipantOur Siemens SIWAMAT 2105 is not draining at all. It continues to fill with water during cycle until completely full! We have cleaned the filter but that made no difference. We can’t hear the pump running. Any suggestions, is this likely to be a terminal problem or expensive to fix?

ParticipantGut efenink Herr Generale,
These machines were prone to inlet valve failure in the open position, also possible fault with water level control.
If you can supply the “E.No” – on the door inner panel and back panel of the appliance we may be able to diagnose a bit further.
One final point, you say that you’ve checked the filter – did you get down on hands and knees and inspect the pump chamber itself (where the propellor is)?

Sounds like a Siwamat 21050 (a.k.a. WM21050GB/16). and most likely is that the sump/ball valve is blocked. Not a DIY job I’m afraid and you need to call in us experts 😉
With the pump/filter cover removed, set the machine onto ‘Spin’ and you should see the pump working? If not then thats the problem and again you need to call in the experts. Try putting your Postcode in the ‘Directories’ section here for just such a person to assist 8)

Thanks for the advice.
I have just tried setting the machine on spin with the pump/filter cover removed, the propellor was working fine and the chamber is clean and there are no obvious blockages.
The E No from the inner door panel is E-Nr WM21050 GB116

OK general, then now set it to a ‘Rinse & Spin’ cycle, let it fill with water for a minute or so until you see the water appear in the drum. Then stop it and reset it to spin, see if it drains out OK????
