I have an Admiral GC2027HNKBS American side by side fridge freezer. I am wanting to give this freezer a service, in particular to clean out the water piping system for the water dispenser and ice maker. The system has become clogged up and the flow is getting very slow, which is making the water dispenser virtually useles and the ice maker has begun making incomplete ice cubes, as I do not think the thing is filling up within the cycle time due to the slow flow. I am sure I have caused this myself after carrying out some some plumbing work in the house recently. I inadvertently and stupidly forgot to isolate the fridge and flush out the feed line before re-connecting the water supply to the fridge. Can anyone tell me how to get into the front panel/door to gain access to the pipework. Can anyone tell me where I can obtain a repair manual or any useful documentatiuon for this unit. Also to the right hand side of the water dispenser and underneath the display panel there is a small white rectangular button that seems to be some kind of switch. Can anyone tell me what this is? Fridge all sorted now, no mystery, no rocket science involved. Just basic stuff anyone with a toolkit could sort. Thanks for all your help on this site, not! I would suggest anyone else with a problem with this type of fridge visits youtube instead. You will find it much more helpfull.

Sorry, I know this is a couple of years ago for you, but I was wondering if you could help me?
I have the same fridge as you (at least the same one you had 2 years ago) and I too am trying to get into the front control panel.
All the videos I’ve found on YouTube seem to be for slightly different models with the plastic on the very outside of the door, whereas ours is behind the stainless steel door panel.
Can you remember how you managed to get it off in the end?

Looks like he expected everyone else to answer, but wouldn’t provide any feedback for how to get into the panel, how annoying!

Hi Chris, sorry about the very late response. I’ve not been on this site much and spent most of 2016 going through extensive cancer treatment, which I’m pleased to say was successful. Regarding the front panel; on my fridge it is clad in stainless steel and I have so far failed to find out how to remove the thing. I haven’t actually needed to remove mine in the end but when I thought it had to come off I tried everything and searched everywhere for information on how to remove it. No success though and from what I can see it would mean removing the stainless steel cladding from the whole left side (freezer) door?
