    Bosch integrated dishwasher sms50e02gb/04

this one has been visited before in other post but with no real answer

machine starts and pumps for a bit but then stops giving E24.
sometimes it will start and fill but more often than not will give E24

have checked pump and its free and the cover is secured

does anyone know how this unit senses its empty ?

there is a sensor in the sump with 2 lobes sticking out does anyone know its purpose part no 611323

am thinking it may be an optical unit or the like with one lobe transmitting to be recieved by the other so it can sense water
in any case at about £6 its worth a punp if nobody knows

The drain pump operates on a DC supply from the module. The module senses when the pump is full, empty or blocked. In the latter case the power to the pump is automatically switched off by the module in an attempt to clear any potential blockage. When it fails in that task then often as not E24 shows on the display. All clever stuff. 😕

    It’s the aqua (turbidity) sensor.

I would suggest replacing the pump the best option or it could just be something wrapped around behind the impellor causing it to be stiff???

Bit of a pain e24 – could be drain pump , heat pump OR something like a cherry stem caught in the non-return flap ( that one is from experience ! )
