Hi, The compressor is permanently on and the fridge is too cold, eg. salad box and eggs frozen up.
I assume that I need to replace the thermostat, but wondered if there was any way of knowing for sure. Also how does one remove the phial, what is the end connected to?
This is not the thermostat! I’m affraid it will be a lack of refrigerant. This makes the fridge not get up to the correct temperature around the senso phila & it over freezes to compensate. Its a new one I’m affraid!
a while since i worked on one but:
Need to check the evaporator, its at the back of the fridge now enbedded in the back plastic wall which I think this one was,if the evaporator is totally covered in ice it could be the thermostat.
If you can see a fitting on the back plate of the fridge where there is a screw holding a plate to the rear wall it houses the thermostat phial.
If there is no frost around it then it could be refigerant loss if there is frost then it probably will be the thermostat.
As it is freezing all the stuff it doesn’t sound like a refrigerant loss, stick a pic of it up if you can
Cheers
