Hi guys.
I have a candy cpca 300k fridge freezer. The start relay was sparking, so I turned it off and looked at the start relay. It was all burnt out. So I order a replacement. I got THIS one.
It’s different from the one I’m replacing, so I don’t know how to wire it in. I have got the live, neutral and earth wired up but I don’t know where to put the black wires.
The wire from the plug has the usual 3 wires. But the wire that goes back into the fridge has an extra black wire.
The starter has some prongs with letters on. N, c and s.
The old starter had a short black wire which went from one prong to another. I don’t know which prongs to put in to and from on the new starter.
I have turned the fridge on without the black wires and it did power up. But the compressor got very hot and tripped the fuse.
Any help would be appreciated.

you clearly have the incorrect start device for your compressor, please post up the numbers off the compressor, and also hope you have not burnt out the start winding of the compressor by applying the power to the incorrect terminals.

the start device you have purchased fits the danfoss type of compressor, the numbers you posted are a differant compressor manufacturer and have a start ptc and cut out as seperate devices.
