    Hi

I’m after a midrange washing machine (budget £500) that washes at 50C. I’ve been looking at Bosch and Siemens and they all seem to only wash at 90C, 60C, 40C and 30C.

Does anyone know and if so, please can I have the make and model.

    Thanks

All modern machines adhere strictly to the Home Laundering Consultative Council’s (HLCC) product label washing guidelines. Hence there is no provision or need for a 50 degree cycle to be incorporated in their programme options.

My DS suffers from eczema and is higly allergic to dustmites, etc. We have found that washing at 40C is not sufficient to kill them but at 50C, they do. However, if we wash at 60C, most items tend to shrink/felt. That is why we want a machine that washes at 50C.

My research tells me dust mites don’t expire until you hit 60?C, that’s why that’s the program commonly used for wash testing. Under 60?C doesn’t get them all.

What you do need IMO is a machine that will rinse well, which many modern machines lack due to the focus on saving resources.

Actually, I’ve just realised that many ‘top of the range’ Bosch and Siemens machines you can reduce the temperature settings (in 10 degree intervals) on all programme options. so, for example, a coloureds 60 cycle can be reduced to 50 degrees if you so wish…! 😀

    ISE10 does 50?C as well. 😉
