Hi, Dishwasher model numbers on door are as follows:
    SE6TIE2GB/46
    FD 8405
It is a fully integrated type.

Dishwasher works OK but has a leak which after about 5 washes causes the base to fill with water and activate the flood protection. Removing the dishwasher and tipping it forwards allows the water in the base to drain out and another 5 washes or so can be done before intervention is required again.
I have traced the source of the leak to what appears to be an overflowing float valve chamber located at the side of the machine – see attached photo showing the float valve chamber.
The chamber is open at its top and when water enters the chamber, which appears to be on initial filling of the machine with water and also on occasions during the wash cycle, the float rises and activates the drain pump switch. The problem is that water continues to fill the chamber, even though the float is at the limit of its travel, until it overflows and a small quantity of water spills over the top of the chamber and drains into the base.

I can’t see how to fix this problem, does anyone have any advice?

Its a Bosch made machine, it looks as though the whole of that pressure chamber could do with a good clean, all that black gunk needs shifting, there is also a tranfer pipe from the end of that assembly that leads into the sump that can also get gunged up.

Thanks iadom, I will have a go at cleaning the presssure chamber and the transfer hose.

Finally got around to cleaning out the pressure chamber and transfer hose. As you said, both were full of gunk! After cleaning the overflow the leak problem was solved. However, a further problem then occurred during the initial initial cold water filling cycle: the float in the pressure chamber lifted and activated the pump, as the water level in the chamfer fell the water inlet valve opened creating a pressure surge which then caused the float to rise again and start the pump once again. This effect kept repeating and the machine was locked into an unstable condition. The problem was solved by backing-off the water inlet pressure slightly i.e. slight closure of the supply pipe isolating inlet valve.
Can’t say I have seen this effect reported before, has it been seen on other dishwashers?

Not usual, most problems are related to very low pressures but seriously high pressures can cause problems.
