ModeratorOne of those jobs, a good friend of a relative. :rolls:
Quite a distance away, only done as a favour.
I called out to this machine last week, it would start up and then light up the tap symbol after a short while. At the time ( and even now ) I suspect poor water pressure.
They have been having a lot of renovation work done and I also think the water pressure is on the low side but not the worst I have seen.
When I called last week I was unable to access the aquastop or inlet tap due to the usual kitchen fitters cock ups.
They have now extracted the machine after removing several panels. tiles etc and they are still getting the same fault. I advised them to put a bog standard hose on the tap and run it for a while into a bucket to try and flush out any gunge that might be in the water supply.
I have never had any problems with aquastops on these and the machine is only around 3 years old.
Am I right in assuming that the problem is still down to their water pressure or could the aquastop be faulty?
Jim.

Hi Jim…don’t ya love these kind of jobs?
I think you’re on the right lines with the water pressure/aquastop…i suspect the only way to confirm is to establish there is a good supply first.
It’s entirely possible that if there’s been a lot of junk coming through the supply then a particle has got through the filter and entered the valve body preventing it from opening up fully? I haven’t personally seen this before on an aquastop but have replaced three or four inlet valves on the earlier bosch/hotpoint types that would barely let water in.
Is it a new kitchen? Have they opened up the spigot on the sink waste?

I don’t have access to check model number presently but does it actually have any water going in to it ? Just wondering if it has an impellor jug in this model that might be faulty ?

Hi Clive, I think the machine has been in 2 or 3 years. The general water pressure is not great but it has worked for the past few years.
They are having some massive renovation work in the huge cellar and I suspect it may have disturbed some gunk that has got into the water system.
I did tell him to clean out the aquastop filter and apparently it did work a couple of times before failing again. 😥
EDIT.
Paul, it does let some water in and he did mention that he heard the aquastop ‘buzzing’ loudly. :con:

I have discovered that this machine does have an impellor jug, do you reckon it is worth trying one?

Just to close this one, impellor jug sorted it. 8)
