ParticipantAre Merloni truly the worst company in the world ?!?!?!
I don’t know where to start with my complaints! We delivered a new indesit WI 101 washing machine to a customer 2 weeks ago via our Estate Agency client who basically pays for it. It developed a fault where the drum seized up and the belt basically melted and broke. The machine is 2 weeks old so I had to replace it which I did. I called my supplier (don’t know if I should mention them), they basically just told me to phone indesit and let an engineer look at it and if he condemns it then they will replace it. With my experience with indesit over the past few months I knew that I would be waiting a good few weeks for an appointment. Firstly can my supplier just tell me to call the manufacturer? There is obviously a fault with the machine and I bought it off them 4 weeks ago?
I called Indesit 90 day warranty department, explained that I had replaced the machine and they said they couldn’t do anything. I asked what that meant as the machine is faulty, less than 1 month old and has been used twice. The lady must have been new as she asked someone else who said I should call Merloni sales and ask for a uplift number – I said that I had been told this in the past and Merloni had refused as I was not their customer but my supplier was but she said just call them.
I called them and the number has been busy for the past 30 mins. I called Indesit back and asked if an engineer could call to just write the machine off so I can deal with m supplier and the reply “As its London we can’t get an engineer to visit for a few weeks…but don’t worry we’ll call”.
So now I have a 2 week old machine just sitting in my valuable workspace with another 2 faulty Indesit machines which are waiting for the engineer to do…whatever they do – after 3 visits they still just replace the same parts or say new ones are on order.
If my customers didn’t want these cheap items I would never buy Merloni. I dealt with Glen Dimplex twice in the past month and it was the complete opposite, they replaced the 2 items within a few days of me arranging it.
