Hi all, I had a look at this Miele yesterday, The customer thought the brushes where gone but i don’t think so.When you push the start button and the door is closed the motor jumps into a spin for about 2 seconds a then the rinse light flashes, if you keep pushing the start button very fast continuously, the motor ramps up into a full spin, My guess would be the board but maybe someone will be able to put me on the right track.

    Thanks Mark.

    no point guessing

    check tacho
check for broken wires in motor harness
find connection on pcb from motor and check its on tight

only then can you start looking at the pcb

Thanks Dave, I have checked the tacho, and the magnet and coil are ok, there are no broken wires in the motor harness, and the connections on the PCB and the motor are ok.
    1. Is the rinse light flashing a fault code for a motor related fault.
    2. Anyone got any other susgestions?.

    Thanks Mark.

rinse light flashing is just a fault code indication

if motor jumps instantly into spin
    check for
A short circuit to earth motor circuit if house has rcd will trip if no rcd and motor is neutral switched then can cause this fault
B check motor triac on pcb for short circuit
