Don’t usually do microwaves but this one is quite expensive to replace and its for a letting agency i do work for and they have loads of these fitted in the kitchens of about 100 apartments.
Ive not looked at it yet but apparently light comes on and plate rotates but it does not heat. Is it just a case of replacing the magnetron or is there other things that can cause this fault.

    Thanks

not looked at any tech on that appliance but in general its the high voltage fuse, diode or high voltage capacitor that give a no heat, if the fuse is gone do check the magnatron for earth leakage.

Took a while to get around to looking at this one. It has a shorted high voltage capacitor. Now seeing as the capacitor for this is special order from connect and is around £50 i was wondering if i can use another of simillar rating or does it have to be exact? For example the capacitor is a 2100VAC 1.02uf and ive seen one for less than half the price which is 2300VAC 1.07uf. Or does anyone know where i can buy the correct rated cap for less?

    Thanks
