Diplomat APD 5022

Hi All,

I have a Diplomat ADP5520 double electric ovens with gas hob, its getting a little old but generally has been a good oven!
I have a couple of problems if someone can help/advise:

The main large oven just packed up one day, upon inspection if I waggle the control knob on the front to select which element to use i.e. fan oven/grill etc. The light flickered and the oven has come on again, is this a common problem, a loose connection or something else?

Also the main oven door wont close anymore there has been a small gap at the top when I try to close, its been getting bigger and bigger oven time, im not convinced its the seal it seems to be the hinges !!!
