    😥

This should be such an easy question it’s embarassing… but I guess I need to just swallow my pride and get on with it.

Last week our Hygena 8224 dishwasher starting delivering us cloudy glasses and streaky cutlery… now having read the guides on here (and great they are too) I understand that this is a detergent/salt/rinse aid problem… the detergent hasn’t changed and I’ve just refilled the salt dispenser (it was completely empty). For good measure I’ve just run the machine through with one of the Finish dishwasher cleaners and I’ve got a thing of Rinse aid too… but where does it go?

My previous experience of dishwashers was with Zanussis and they have a little compartment next to the soap dispenser where the rinse aid goes, but this Hygena doesn’t have that. It does however have an opening halfway up the left inner wall of the machine with a crosshead dial above it and I was wondering if this is where the rinse aid should go. I’m a little reticent about just flinging it in though and thought I should check first!

    Any advice will be welcome!

    Grum,

There’s a little round bit with a sorta handle on it next to the bit you put the soap in, turn it a quarter turn and it should pop off. Put the rinse aid in there, when the container is full the little round “window” should turn black, it it’s empty it looks clear. Put the round bit back on and you’re done.

And it is a rinse aid issue by the sounds of it. 😉

Re: Hygena ADP 8224… the naming of the parts

    Many thanks.. that was it!

Because we’ve been using tablets (that may change having read the posts/FAQs on here) and the dispenser on the Hygena isn’t big enough to take a tablet, that door has been open for months so I never saw it!

    D’Oh!

Anyhow… should all be fine now, thanks again!
