    Hi

My Bosch SGS53C12UK/01 is leaking from the rubber seal between the heater element and the pump. I have removed the element along with the defective seal, however it doesnt seem possible to remove the seal from the heater element assembly.

Looking through the various part suppliers this seal doesn’t appear to be listed, though it is quite difficult to interpret which seals are available as few come with good pictures or descriptions. The seal doesnt appear separately on the one exploded diagram i’ve managed to locate

Is it possible to replace this seal or do I have to spend £100+ on a new element?

If I buy an element do I have to get a bosch part or are there lower cost alternatives available?

Complete new element from Bosch or secondhand garbage off eBay. Your choice! 😀

    Thanks Martin

This does seem crazy, £120 to replace a perfectly good element just because there is a hole in a rubber seal that cant cost more than £5. I can buy a whole new dishwasher for £200, is there any point in spending money on a 5 year old one?
